Can anyone tell me how much they charge to rent a beach chair on St. Thomas? Thanks!

You can rent beach chairs on Coki and Sapphire for sure. At Coki, you an get them for 5.00 at Sapphire I believe it's 8.00. We brought our own this time. We used some zip ties and for 15.00 we were able to take them everywhere. We left them with friends at Sapphire so we didn't have to deal with that on the way back.

Magen's also rents them, and so does Trunk Bay on St. John. I have no idea of the cost.

I have a couple of beach chairs in a bag that I bring down each year in my very big wheeled duffel. I've had these chairs forever, and, although they are not luxury, they do the trick. Just harder to get out of as I get older. They are so convenient.

Varies a bit by beach... rates from earlier this year...

Some beaches with resorts on site have chairs for hotel guests only; some will rent chairs to non-guests.
Emerald and Bolongo it is $5 for lounge chair rental.
Sapphire its $7.
Morningstar: $25 for non guest (2 lounge chairs + umbrella)

Non-resort beaches:
Coki it is $5 for lounge chairs.
And Magens: Lounge Chairs - $6 (+ $5 deposit) and Beach Chairs $4 ($5 deposit). (Deposit returned when chair is returned.)

The first wave of chair rentals may ask for $10. Politely decline and within 5 minutes you should have a chair for around $5. I always tip well if they include food service.

If you have a rental car.....go to K-Mart or Cost-U-Less...buy a "fold-up chair in a bag" for about $10.00 .......then just leave the chair at your hotel/condo upon departure.

By the 3rd day you're saying money!
