Hi everyone..just wondering what are the good restaurants and Bars around Red Hook...we will be there on Dec 31st - Jan 6th and want to go out around there for New Years Eve because it is not that far from the Hotel (Wyndham Sugar Bay) ...any ideas..we thought about Jost (Foxy's) but the ferry ride back to St. Thomas seems really long to be drunk on..LOL...Help!

The bars of Red Hook are basically within crawling distance of each other. You can easily walk around and see what is going on at Molly's, Duffy's, Poor Man's, etc. Always plenty of taxis to take you home.

And the restaurants on East End are nice (but I don't know who's open NYE), and include Molly's, Duffy's, East End Cafe, Carribbean Saloon, Off the Hook and Red Hook Diner.

East Ender:

Molly's (last Thursady Night) scored a "zero" with me. The corned beef was so bad (all fat) I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. I sent it back and ordered the fish & chips...that too was not very good. They lost a customer.

FI: Hmm, and my breakfast Sunday morning was delicious! Win some, lose some, I guess! 🙂

I thought Amos said he didn't want to go to Jost?

If you take the ferry from Red Hook how long is the ride to Jost? From what I can tell it is like 2 hrs? Is this correct? I would love to go to Jost but the thought of being on a long Ferry ride at 2:00 in the morning is not thrilling.. Is there a better way to get over to the island?

We stayed at the Wyndham in August '04...We loved Duffy's and I agree with "F.I." about Molly's...when we ate there we were not impressed!
