Hi,

My husband & I want to rent a sailboat in Tortola for a week. There seem to be a few companies that do this & I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. We are thinking about getting a captain for the first 2 days. We do have a sailboat, but my husband is The Captain & I am the novice.

We are also thinking of staying somewhere close to Tortola for a few days of R & R after our sail. Any ideas on somewhere to stay for 3 days?

Thanks SO much & this BB is great!
Allie

We are owners of a boat in the Sunsail program, and have been very happy. They also have a hotel right there at the marina: Hodges Creek
Have fun!

Like East Ender says, check out traveltalkonline.com for info on sailing the BVI's. As far as lodging for 3 days, I highly recommend the Lighthouse Inn or Ole Works Inn on Cane Garden Bay. Ole Works Inn is right on the beach and owned by well known local reggae artist Quito Rymer, who regularly plays with his band at his restaurant on site. If you really want to party for 3 days, stay during the annual BVI Music Fest on May 25, 26 & 27th. Three non-stop days of great acts on stage right on the beach at Cane Garden Bay. A real happening...

I suggest Estate Lindholm on St. John. Rent a Jeep and explore the island during your 'getting your land legs' days. That's what we do. We prefer STJ to Tortola. Be that's just our opinion.
