I was wondering if there are any "younger" type bars on STT. I am graduating from college in May and am moving to STT. I am going to be down there 3/12 so just trying to figure out a head of time some nice bars to visit. Thanks!

there are too many to list. some would be iggies, duffys, fungis. All are a good time and usually have younger crowds. But it wouldn't be out of the norm to have middle aged people at these places also.

My son is almost 20. He asked around and found that people recommended: Greenhouse (Charlotte Amalie) and OffShore Bar (Havensight). He said Offshore bar is sports themed and has a young crowd - he liked it. He really liked the Caribbean Saloon, but that was when he wanted to chill, eat and watch sports on the TV.

As far as meetng girls - he met more at the resorts and on the beaches during the day than he did in bars. I got the impression that the bars were more of a sports, hang out with guys thing.......and the "love connection" was better at the resorts and beaches like Magens Bay (meeting other visitors). If you live there, I guess you'd want to meet girls who are residents, not visitors.

If you live there, you also can't lie like my son and say you're the wealthy 26 yr old son of a tycoon who owns a home on the island. Yep...he did. Of course, when I drove up to pick him up from wherever, I kind of killed the fantasy......I'm such a "blocker". haha

Blu your son sounds like mine he did the same thing. But I played along with it and so did my friend the tycoon.
She went back to the cruise ship thinking she met a rich guy insteed of an unemployed broke college kid. Who knows what she told him.

Tom,

Some things never change. I meet the "tycoons" everyday.

We were told by an employee of Yacht Haven Grande that the newly opened Fat Turtle is supposed to be a younger hopping crowd. Can't speak from experience. We did not have a chance to go there before we left.

I second Shipwreck in Havensight. Its usually busy and has quite a "Continental" feel. On the weekends Redhook is the place to be, quite a few bars in a small area, all within walking distance and its safe as well.
