Hi, I am getting married in St. John in late July and we are looking for a 2-4 piece calypso or steel band to play at our wedding/reception that will take place in a villa. We were told that Au We is a good choice, but there are 10 or so members and we will only have about 35 guests, so this seems a bit much. Can someone recommend an authentic local band of this type that will be fun, but not the typical tourist/wedding band? Thanks!

Ah We is a great band, but, yes a little too big for what you want. They may be able to scale down for you. Also check Carlie Powell, he has a little group that sounds like it will fit your bill. His number is 340.693.8379. Good luck.
