Hello all,
I will be traveling to St. John in the beginning of June. I will be staying for 4-6 weeks and backpacking around the VIs and BVIs before I head to Australia. I am interested in joining someones crew that will be sailing at that time or really any type of work to supplement my traveling fund. Does anyone on this message board have this type of need or know someone who does? I would greatly appreciate any networking. Also, this will be my first trip to the Vi's and if I can't find a crew to join, I would like to island hop and camp as I go. Any suggestions would also be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Jacob

Good Morning, Jacob!

It would probably be a good idea if you registered on the relocation forum (click on VI Moving Center top of this page and you'll find the forum) and posted your query there since this is a visitor's forum. June is really not a good time to be looking for casual work here as it's the start of slow season. Many charter boats start hauling out their boats or moving them in preparation for hurricane season. BUT, check out the local marinas on STT (American Yacht Harbor, Independence Boat Yard and Sapphire) as you may well find a pretty crappy but well-paying job prepping hauled boats. As far as campsites are concerned, there are two on St John (Maho/Concordia, and Cinnamon). Good luck!
