Hi!

I will be in ST Thomas one week from today. We are taking our two kids. One is 12 and the other.....2! I would appreciate if anyone has any recommendations on a babysitting service. One night out would be great....but I really need to not be worrying!

Thanks in advance

Where are you staying? Most of the family oriented hotels and especially the ones that are all-inclusive (like Wyndham Sugar Bay) have a great kids club and babysitting at night by very competent staff. We just came back a few weeks ago. I can't say enough compliments about their program.

Dear Landlocked.....

We will be at Bluebeards Beach Club/Villas. So to go out we will need to leave the property. I was looking for someone to come to our villa. I also would like to know that they are established, recommended and certified?!!!! Going out is less important than my kids safety. Although going out would be nice! Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Smigitch

When are you going to Bluebeard's Beach Club? We'll be there in August with a 13 year old and a 14 year old. We have the same dilemma. We will want to go out alone at least once for a nice quiet kidless grown up romantic evening, but are very uncomfortable leaving the kids alone in the room. It's also tough to get a babysitter for two young teens. (I can hear the arguing now.) I'm basically hoping to perhaps find another trustworthy family and trade off child supervision, but even with that I would feel most uncomfortable.

I'd love to hear what you decide.

Hi Gerie!!

I will be there this Friday..........wahooooooooo!!! Too bad you are there in August, I would have loved to trade. I have a two year old and a 12 year old. I am gonna look up "Nannies in Paradise" when I get there and see how I feel then. The web site makes them sound like two wonderful grannies. We'll see! I will let you know when I get back what I did and didn't do. I think someone at the front desk should be able to help us out with any info. Hope so anyway. Talk to ya after the 25th.

Have a great trip. Enjoy the Beach Club. I'm looking forward to a report on childcare and everything else.

Hey Gerie!!!

I am back...boohoo....but have a ton of great memories! Nannies in paradise is the way to go. We used them and were completely satisfied. The other company mentioned never bothered to return my call until a day and a half later!!! It is a bit expensive.....$15.00 per hour for one or two kids and a 4 hour minimum! But the peace of mind is well worth it! Have a great one and tell Geoff and Alex we said hi! (you'll figure it out!) Talk to ya....any questions...just ask!
