Is anyone aware of what it is like to get baby formula on St. Thomas? We are going there for 33 days and will be bringing two babies.
We are interested in brand's, types (soy or dairy), size (oz?), and price. Preferrably at KMart if they have it.
UPDATE: Also interested in disposable bottle liners (4oz or 8oz).
UPDATE 2: I called KMart and they told me they have Enfamil and Similac, but she could not give out prices over the phone. Now I just need price, soy-vs-dairy, and the size of the can.
Any input would be greatly appreciated, as we do not want to lug around a bunch of formula in our suitcases if we can get it on the island for a reasonable price.
Thank you very much!

I can't give you specific answers but you will have NO problem finding what you need and I don't think you'll find any alarming disparity in the prices here versus what you're used to paying stateside. KMart is definitely your best bet but all the big grocery stores carry such supplies. I was in KMart today but only to buy one item, the place was packed with Christmas shoppers (even as early as I went) and all I wanted to do was find the shortest line possible and just get out of there as fast as possible! But, again, I don't think it's anything you have to worry about either where availability or cost is concerned!
Cross it off the pre-trip worry list and look forward to enjoying a wonderful vacation. Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much for the helpful reply, we will gladly cross that one off our worry list. Now we just have to prepare for 5 hours of flying with a 3 month old and a 14 month old. Happy Holidays to you as well!

Maybe you missed that the OP is coming for a total of 33 days and bringing formula is exactly what she's trying to avoid. There'll be no problem at all finding what's needed.
Sortages of staples are not uncommon. I lived full time in the VI when my kids were babies. I ALWAYS kept a TWO WEEK SUPPLY of baby needs on hand. diapers formula, drinking water et, al. Also a can of powdered similac is pretty easy to put in the suite case. Diappers will probalbly cost about 30% more than state side. Alot of VI order these supplies through Walmart on line to save big $$$. Please don;t take pffense STT resident, I'm only trying to help the Orignal poster.
If I were you, I'd ship ahead the powdered fromula and bottles using the US post office flat rate box at $12 per box. Mix with bottled (not tap, evern if filtered) water.

You can, if you want, to ship powdered formula via the post office in flat rate boxes before you arrive, but Kmart should have what you want. More expensive than what you pay in the states.
I wouldn't worry about shipping water. Kmart sells (baby) distilled water by the gallon in the baby section of the store.
You can boil tap/cistern/city water, if you don't want to buy water.
That's right. don't ship water. But you may want to ship the baby bottles and liners and nipples. If your baby is acustommed to one particular type of formula, you may want to ship that brand and begin to gradually intergrate the brand you purchase at kmart. Be very careful when reading expiration dates at all stores/market.
Thank you everyone for the input. We were able to find the Little Ones brand of soy-based formula at KMart. It was about the same price as the Target brand back in the states. we brought our own bottles and liners. Little Ones diapers have been reasonably priced as well.
