My family and I are renting a villa on STT, and we need to rent a port-a-crib or pack
n' play for my 14 mo. grandson. We're having no luck finding a place to rent such equipment. Anyone have any ideas? TIA!

Did you ask your villa rental people? They should be helping.

He gave me the name of one rental company, and they don't rent those types of items. It's strange how difficult this is becoming; surely we're not the first people who need to rent a baby bed. I've asked the question on Fodor's Talk forum, also, to no avail. Thanks for responding, though!

Hi marnie,

I'm the one from fodors who suggested posting on this forum (I assume you are the same one!). There's one more place to try... www.traveltalkonline.com. Go to the USVI section and ask Nutmeg... she's always helping people out there.

After that, I'm out of ideas!

Mamie, I feel they should be the one to find you a pack n play. They make a healthy commission renting you the villa. This is my opinion. Tell them they have them at KMart!

Thanks, all; guess I didn't explain that we are renting from the owner; he said his insurance people advised not to supply baby equipment. So, no realty co. to ask. But, once again, it's so strange that absolutely no one knows a place to recommend.

SoCa, yes, I'm one and the same. I'll try traveltalkonline!

I appreciate all the responses. Worst case scenario, my daughter and her husband can take their pack n' play, but that's kind of a pain what with all the other stuff to pack for baby.

I remember a while ago, perhaps two years or so, there was a thread on this forum about babysitters, etc. The name "Nannies in Paradise" rings a bell and there was another, the name of which rings nothing. One of the two listed on their website that they had rental of baby stuff, such as cribs. I searched here and couldn't find the thread. A check for a website for Nannies in Paradise came up with no results. Perhaps someone with a better memory or better search skills can find this information.

Here is a "Nannies in Paradise" thread. It doesn't talk about renting port-a-cribs, however. It's probably the other thread you have in mind.

Here's another thread that does talk about port-a-crib rentals...

https://www.vinow.com/wwwtalk/read.php?4,60324,60353#msg-60353

It's called Royal Indulgence.

I googled it and can't seem to find a website, however.

Thank you, thank you, Carole and Gerie; you do deserve a drum roll, Carole! We did try searching internet but couldn't find anything. I will give this info to my daughter asap. If ths works out, this will certainly make the trip easier.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's effort for this project!

My daughter has been in touch with nannycare, and it seems that the rental is going to work out well; thank you, again! She asked about the availabilty of a high chair, also, and the woman said she doesn't have one at this time ,but she is considering buying one to rent to my daughter. So, so far, the agency seems to be quite accommodating.

Pack 'n Play and high chair rental went very smoothly; delivered soon after we arrived and picked up the morning we left. Thanks again, SoCA!

RonUSVI, are you inquiring about SoCa's trip or wanting more info about our equipment rental than I wrote on 6/17? Glad to supply any info that would be helpful; just holler! 🙂

It was a great family trip, and I appreciate everyone's help with this "problem". I recommend Nannycare!
