Thank you all for all the info! St. Thomas is wonderful! The Island is beautiful, the people are as nice as they can be, and relationships are rekindled there...we met lots of people just like us...all different ages...looking to reconnect at an island paradise!

Hubby and I just returned last night (to snow, I might add). We did end up leaving Marriott Frenchmann's and would never go back! Frenchmann's was big, cold, TERRIBLE service, just plain awful for Marriott standards and Marriott prices!

Went to Secret Harbour ... it was wonderful. Small (not new, but very roomy), clean, romantic, very personal. Staff was wonderful...guests were friendly and helpful!

We had dinner at:

Craig and Sally's - loved it! Possibly the best meal we've ever eaten out...service to die for...and oh my goodness the desserts! Great Wine selection.

Old Stone Farmhouse - food was good, service was okay, chef is arrogant. I have a problem with a chef that thinks he know what I like more than me. If you aren't incredibly adventurous with food, don't attempt the sampler. They will not tell you what it is before they bring it out. Again, we ordered of the menu, and what we ordered was good, but it was not what we had built it up to be...and in no way a Craig and Sally's.

Blue Moon Cafe was wonderful. Great food, reasonably priced...again, for the island standard, and a wonderful wine selection, which was a surprise.

Daysail on the Winifred was picture perfect. Left Red Hook on Tuesday a.m. with rain...by the time we reached our private Cay, we had sun and perfect snorkeling.

Snorkeling on St. Thomas is great at secret harbour, saw sea turtles (2), sting ray, baracuddas, thousands of fish, black sea urchins, flounder -- we think -- waiting for pix on this one, and an octopus. It was unbelievable.

Magen's beach was beautiful...does get somewhat crowded when ships are in...but, hey, we're all on vacation.

Thank you, all, again. We had a perfect 2nd honeymoon! We won't wait another 16 years between...and we will definitely return to St. Thomas.

THANK YOU Roberta!!

Great review 🙂 thank you for sharing it with all of us.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time and handled the few hotel/restaurant issues well and didn't let them dampen your trip. Hope the pictures and thoughts from the trip are making the snowy cold weather.... warmer??? 🙂

Happy Holidays.

St. Thomas is not only a wonderful place for a second honeymoon but a great place for the first. Deb and I stayed at Pavilions and Pools for our first honeymoon and had a wonderful time. We return to St. Thomas every year. On odd years we bring some of the kids with us but on even years we have a "second" honeymoon, each better than the last. We have met many wonderful people on both St. Thomas and St. John and we always deal with many of the same local people for our meals, entertainment and transportation not to mention shopping. We make new friends every time we go, some locals and some people like us that keep returning to the islands every chance we get. There is something special about the Virgins that has us returning every year. All the helpful people on this board are a sample of the friendship and helpfulness we find at every turn on both St. Thomas and St. John. We're looking forward to another "second" honeymoon this coming year. I hope eveyone has a wonderful holiday.
