What is the weather on St. Thomas like during November and December. Does it rain a lot? Any comments will be appreciated. Also, while I understand the main roads on St. Thomas are paved, are the roads winding through the mountains to the secluded villas paved or primarily dirt and gravel? We plan to rent a villa on the north side of the island and rent a car. Is a 4-wheeled vehicle needed or will a standard automobile suffice?
IMHO, November can be a wet month - raining for multiple days; all day. Of course, we're in a strange weather cycle so its a crap shoot but based on my experience, November can be very rainy. Usually levels out and gets sunny & dry and more "normal"toward the end of November.
December is asolutely gorgeous! Christmas winds start to blow in December, bright sunny days, consistent USVI B-U-TEE-FUL weather.
We were on island the first two weeks of Nov. 05, had wonderful weather, maybe a shower over night, and a passing shower during the day (5-10 min) other wise very nice...but that was last year.
Enjoy
We were there in late December this past year and it was lovely. In the evenings the winds were beginning to blow and a light jacket was needed for outside. Other than that -- perfect beach weather.
