The Old Tart has graciously agreed to host another special Tuesday buffet gathering at the Toad and Tart. There will be a great spread of delicious choices all for the price of $15 per person.

It would be wonderful to get to meet many of the VINow forum members who I've come to know over the several years I've been reading the forum. Please RSVP to this post if you think you will be able to make it so that we can have a head count and guarantee 15 people.

Hoping to see many of you there.

Gerie

Gerie,

Wish I could tell you that PJ and I will be there, but it's not going to happen this year. Family obligations are going to keep us on the mainland this summer. We will both be thinking of you guys on the 12th. Have a drink for us. We plan on being back on island in 2009. See you all then.

Sherri,

What a coincidence! There will also be people there that I would love to meet. There are a few I'm excited to see again, as well. This once-a-year thing is getting old.

It looks like the minimum of 15 is going to happen. In addition to those who've posted here I've heard privately of 11 who will be joining us and a possible 4 more.

I believe the Toad and Tart has capacity for 35, so there's room for lots more. I hope some others will join us. (Islander?)

Gerie: Everything is looking good.

sherri: We have a (cold) a/c "Cozy" adjacent to the bar room which accommodates 14 comfortably and the fans in the main bar area keep everything there very comfortable. The cocktail food doesn't require that the kitchen oven and burners be cranking as normal so no worries where a gathering is concerned. Never a complaint thus far where private parties are concerned at any time of the year.

Look forward to seeing everyone for a fun social evening and would encourage anyone sitting on the fence to reserve asap. Can't stress enough that this is a PRIVATE party on a night when the T&T is normally closed and planning and prepping will be contingent upon numbers I have as of one week prior to the gathering. Would hate to be in the position of turning away last-minute unreserved guests! Cheers!

Sounds fun, we'll be there then. Where is the T & T and, what type of cuisine will be served?

T&T is on the Smith Bay Road between the old Renaissance Grand hotel and Point Pleasant, directly across the street from the Kilnworks Pottery. Cocktail spread - seafood, chicken, roast beef, baked brie, other cheeses and fruits, quiches - who knows what else?

Howdy all-

I've been meaning to try the T & T. It would be my hubby & I attending. That's a Tuesday; what time does it start & finish?

With about a week and a half until the big bash at the Toad and Tart, it looks as if there are quite a few planning to attend. I just received e-mails from another couple who will be attending, and a different couple who hopes to join us. I've given them the T&T phone number to confirm. This should be a lot of fun!

Last call!

If you haven't already reserved, please either post or call 775-1153 by latest this coming Tuesday, August 5th. Having an enormous amount of fun putting together a ton of great grub (doing other than what I usually do is great for creativity!) and we now have AC in the main bar too so even a crush of bodies will remain cool. Cheers and looking forward to seeing everybody!
