We'll be arriving in STT late on Friday evening and will miss the ferry to stj. We just need accommodations for 1 night in a clean, reasonably priced hotel. Any suggestions?

I'd vote for the Best Western Emerald Beach near the airport (1/4 mi). It's clean, nothing fancy, great beach (all rooms are oceanfront), and good breakfast. I think it's around $125 per night.

What time will you arrive as the last ferry to STJ is at midnight, but just in case you can't make that one try the Best Western, the Holiday Inn or my vote would be for the Crystal Palace - great guy (hi Ronnie 🙂 )

I stay at the Best Western Emerald Beach every year rather than arrive late on STJ. Current price, however, is $259. The BW Carib Beach is more spartan, but perfectly suitable if you're just looking for a place to sleep and about $140.

I second the Crystal Palace. You'll meet the funniest chap in all of the VI's and at the same time step into a bit of VI history.

We usually come in a day or two before a charter. We have stayed at the Mafolie www.mafolie.com Clean and safe affordable rooms and one of the best restaurants on the islands if you want a late dinner or snack.

I have stayed at the Galleon House a few times in past couple of years as I have made my way from San Juan down to St. J. They are a reasonable hotel on the hillside of Govt Hill)?) just a 3 block walk from the ferry dock. I usually stay there for the one night and then grab my bag and go downhill to the ferry to Paradise (St J)!

It has lot of local flavor and has the basics for the one night stay. DO NOT take one of the "closet rooms" behind the check in desk! Ask for one of the upper level rooms with a view.
