Can anyone help with store hours on Sunday, November 11th. I believe it is a holiday for STT, and was wondering if I will be able to shop for food, alcohol, etc. when I arrive. I believe Monday is also a holiday. Will I have any trouble that day?Thanks to all on this board - Great help in planning our trip.
Plaza Extra at Tutu Park Mall (Weymouth Rhymer Hwy) and Pueblo (Long Bay rte 30, and Subbase) should be open. There's also Cost U Less and Price Smart (also on Weymouth Rhymer). They are easy enough to get directions to when you arrive. Grocers are still open on Monday. The only time I see grocery stores closed here is on all and/or part of Christmas Day or New Year's Day (depending on the store)... but Plaza Extra is open 7-11, 365/6.
Holidays in general don't mean much where general stores/tourist attractions/tour operators/bars/restaurants etc. are concerned. Local government takes off EVERY holiday whether it be Federal or local and the majority of banks likewise. But for private enterprise it's business as usual. Cheers!
I'd advise you to be flexible in what you're looking for at the store, and be prepared to substitute. Stores have a tendency to run out of some items over the weekend, especially if it's a holiday weekend or the store is having a sale on those items.
