I have been watching the weather and I'm concerned. No reports from STT or STJ on the Caribbean Hurricane Network. Are you all okay?
Guess you won't see any reports because there's nothing to report except some rain. Other than that, daily routine as normal.
On St. Thomas' northside it rained all day yesterday, not heavy rain but consistent. Good for the cistern and for the trees. No wind. Today it's overcast but the sun is starting to come out.

I'd love to see some sun but on the East end of STT there's nothing but grey skies and constant rain - along with Chinese water torture sound of the cistern overflowing!
We've had a couple of days of rain and some wind. No worries.
LOTS of rain, but not enough to keep the wife and me inside!
During Monday's torrential downpour, we sat in the Beach Bar and had a bite to eat and a drink or 2.
Woke up Tuesday morning to sunshine, but the clouds and rain will be back before lunch. We're going to try to get in a short hike to the glyphs before we get wet.
Thats too bad the weather is not too great this week, I hope you are still having a good vacation. We leave for STT Oct 5th, I will cry if it is raining the whole time and or grey skys. I just need to have a few good beach days and I'll be happy.
My husband favors Aruba because the weather is almost a guarantee of sunshine every day, it is under the hurrican belt so if they get a little rain it is usually in the middle of the night or early morning it is very rare for a full rainy day, it is even rare for Grey Skies.
I guess maybe Sept, and Oct. are not the best times to visit STT.
Nice to hear from you Ed. I was thinking about you and hoping you and your wife were having a nice time. You two have the right attitude! You aren't going to let a little (or a lot) of rain get you down. My husband and I will be coming down in 2 days. I have been checking the weather....the forecast seems to change hourly. No worries that's what dark and stormys are for. Looking forward to our visit. So glad to hear the VI aren't getting it as bad as Porto Rico. I am praying the BLOB moves away from land and gives everyone a break.

Hi notahippie
You have the best idea 🙂
If you do the Reef Bay Trail today you will see the waterfall running - a rare sight 🙂
I spoke to a friend who hiked it yesterday and said it was spectacular and instead of hiking the trail back to the shore they walked in the "stream" with their dogs and said it was amazing - a great photo opportunity for sure.
I will pray you get some great weather for the rest of your trip - and maybe I'll see you tomorrow in Mongoose Junction - I'll look for you at the Gecko Bar - great place to hang out (and drink) 🙂

We went last year in October and only had one bad storm overnight and one morning where it was rainy, with a beautiful afternoon.
This has been a very active weather season. I think anytime you travel this time of year, you run the risk of bad weather -- that's why the rates are good. We used to go to North Carolina late in the summer every year, and it seemed like we always ran right out of the bad weather.
I do hope the sun comes out for Ed. I'm also hoping the weather holds out when we are there in November. It's been so crazy this year that there seems like a better chance of big storms later in the season.
Very impressive video Captain John. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
According to the weather folks looks like the Blob is finally going to head out to sea. The chocolate hole weather cam looks like it is a beautiful morning on STJ. So glad your going to have some sunshine for a change.
We finally have sun today and it's a welcome relief for true. This season so far has been a real doozie were rain is concerned and is NOT normal. That said, and all moaning aside, would we rather have a hurricane come through or just deal with the massive outer bands of either hurricanes or hurricanes-in-the making?
Probably a no-brainer but when our local Water and Power Authority (good old WAPA) keeps outing us of power for one hour or more and then clicks back on for a heartbeat before the black falls again, that is an enormous ouch.

The pay off for the rain come soon. The hills will be green and brilliant gold from the Ginger Thomas.
