If there are any visitors that will be soon arriving from the following cities (and then obviously flying back home) ....
LA
Philadelphia
Boston
Buffalo NY
Chicago
Connecticut
PLEASE contact Rhea at the STT Humane Society as we are desperately looking for escorts to transport some puppies/dogs from our island "kill" shelter to new adoptive families in these cities.
It does not cost you anything, you will be met at the airport with the dog, they are then checked in and taken to the plane. Upon arrival at the destination airport you are met by the adoptive family - it is just they can not fly without a passenger who is actually on the plane
If you can help please call ASAP as the heat restriction comes into effect soon and then no animals can fly unless they fit under the seat in front of you.
Thanks everyone - here is the number - 340-643-0796
Pia
ps: you must be flying AA or Jet Blue
What a cool thing, love people who help the rescue puppies!!
Pia,
Are there any cut-off dates for flying dogs in summer for this?
I am not 100% sure when the heat restriction goes into effect but I believe they can't fly dogs from end of May until October/November
Pia
Yes, I think they have to be small enough to fly in cabin with person during the summer heat restriction.
Hope they find some wonderful people to help them get to their new forever homes, state-side.
Wonder if they bark in west indian doggie dialect?
