I have a nice link to the Chocolate Hole webcam, and that sailboat in the lower right has been washed up on the beach for over a week.

If its still there when I get there in a week, I'm claiming salvage rights 😎

http://forum.freeadvice.com/civil-litigation-46/marine-salvage-rights-57573.html

"Federal salvage laws state a vessel must be considered abandoned for a period of 10 years before the legal owner gives up their rights to ownership. And the government body that has jurisdiction over the water way (in this case a city as you stated) would have first rights if the legal owner abandons the vessel. And there is the possibility that vessels legal owner is an insurance company that paid off when the vessel was lost. It would be difficult, if not impossible, for an individual such as yourself to ever claim ownership of an abandoned boat. "

Do you really think he was serious?

Notta, I could not see which vessel was on the Beach. Maybe I need better glasses. I saw a John Brandi video that had a cat. on the beach but can't pick it out in the web cam shot. By the way, I got your drift... (no pun intended) Just re-checked and found the boat. Had to scroll all the way right. Sorry...

The sailboat is the Janet Lynn. Belongs to a woman who recently lost her husband, who had a huge impact to the elementary school in Cruz Bay. The boat is named after their daughter, who passed away in the 70's. Since his death there is a scholarship fund set up in his name for the children of St. John. www.billmorrisscholarshipfund.org He is dearly missed.

Loved the photo, laughed outloud, you had no way of knowing the history. It's all good. I just thought that everyone should know what a wonderful man Bill was and what a fantastic woman his wife is. Have a great time while you're on St. John.
