I'm coming to St Thomas in July ( not July 4th)
and have never been to the USVI. Some US states don't alow the sale of fireworks, some do.
Im not talking the big super displays you see on holidays,
I mean the ones that anyone off the street can go into a fireworks store and buy.
But Wondering if anyone knows anything about fireworks, fireworks stores, or if it's even legal to have
fireworks in St Thomas?
I can be replied here, but a best shot would be to send to my email [email protected]
Much appreciated!
Thanks,
Sebastian
There aren't any fireworks stores here, and I don't know if they're legal for consumers. I don't think they're a good idea here, though, because it can get mighty dry, and I can just see somebody now burning down the VI. Besides, I think our economy is too small to support so narrow an industry.
Funny, in the states pyrotechnics was something I used to work with, but since I moved here, has been non-existent in my life. I don't even know if they are legal!!!!! :S This is a good question! Can't mail them, not supposed to carry them on the plane, how would you get them here even if they were legal?!?!?! Any person who "knows" anything about fireworks, would already be aware of safety, that is the #1 issue! When we had the fire over on Hassle Island that one year for Carnival, I saw it was going to happen and told my (x)-husband that we were "going" to have a fire! The pyrotechnists should have seen that coming! I sure did! Are you thinkin' on doing something here with them? Now you have my curiosity up! 🙂
There are NO fireworks available here. Jut replace that part of your lives with the beauty of the water, the land and the people here. You can see the fireworks on the 4th from Sapphire Beach or from Cruz bay. The Ritz also has had fireworks on the past.
Have a good time
