Hello,
I am considering having my wedding in St. Thomas during the last weekend in April of 06. Can someone tell me what St. Thomas is like in April.
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
KRJ
It's like the rest of the year. What exactly are you looking to have answered? Weather? Crowds? Cruise ships? Hotel Rates? Give us a better idea of what you need to know and I'm sure someone will have the answer for ya!
Welcome to the Board, KRJ!
Thanks for responding Marty.
I want to get an idea of what the weather will be in April, also the crowds and rates. I understand that your Carnival is in April. Would that be a good time to have the wedding or bad because of the crowds and store closings, etc. Basically, anything you can provide that would give a picture of what it's like in April in St. Thomas.
Thanks again.

Weather info can be found in the upper right corner of the page, just under the box that says "Go".
Crowds; We are still in high season in April, so we're still busy. But, since you will be staying here, the 'crowds' that we are talking about are the numbers of people from the cruise ships. The more ships, the more crowds. But that usually only effects the town of Charlotte Amalie and a few of the beaches. Very easy to avoid while vacationing/honeymooning here.
The rates are still "high".
Carnival: Check the schedule and you can plan around it. As an example, today and tomorrow are the only 2 days of Carnival that my store is closed...and that applies to just about all of them. If you are going to be renting a car during the height of Carnival, reserve early, as they go quick that week.
You're gonna have the time of your life!! Congrats!
Hello KRJ,
The last weekend in April (actually the last week) is the finale of the St. Thomas Carnival events which equates to more traffic downtown, the main parking lot is closed, stores and businesses close on the two parade days (Friday & Saturday). If you are interested in seeing the parades then plan for that time if you aren't then I would just as well suggest moving it forward or back a week.
Weather - our rainier months are Sept-Nov followed by May. Take a look at the weather link suggested at the top of this page. It has averages for rain and temp.
Also click on this link https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/Wedding/ its to our wedding section. You will find some useful information there on licensing and planners.
All the best,
