We're planning 2nd trip back to St. John for the end of October. We stayed last summer at Estate Concordia and had a great time. These forums were a great help last time in our decision making.
We're thinking of trying out a private vacation home this time like Tropical Treehouse or Coconut Hill (www.tropicaltreehouse.com). We enjoyed being away from others for the most part at Concordia, but this place still seems pretty secluded without being as far away from the main beaches. The rates seem great and the place looks pretty nice too.

Has anyone stayed there or driven by the place? Any other suggestions for a lesser expensive place to stay for 3 adults and two kids ages 6 and 7? I'm hoping the weather won't be too wet or risky of hurricanes that late in the season.
