Hi all, we are leaving for STJ tomorrow! What a long, fact-filled wait it has been. I read the boards everyday and want to thank everone for their imput. But we were interested in horseback riding while there and heard of the Carolina Corral. Has anyone ever rode there? Is it still open? Any idea of the price? I have a preconceived notion of a romantic horseback ride on the beach..............
thanking you in advance

Hi Lorie,

There was a recent trip report that had a story of the guide at this corral not showing up for a ride....or showing up late and not knowing what time the appointment was set for. You can search for it and read the review.

Have a great time!

I called them because I had that same romantic notion that you did. I was told that they ride on a trail and it is not along the beach. I asked it they would make an exception to ride by the beach and was told no. I read a review shortly after that which described that part of the tour was riding next to/or overlooking auto junk yards. Here is a link to that review:

The poster on this board wrote, "I wish I could say that the Carolina Corral experience was good, but it was not. I really do not know how much detail I should provide here, but if someone needs more information please let me know. "

Here is a link to that report which is more recent:

Based on this info we skipped it. I couldn't find any horseback riding on STT either. St. Croix had two placed that had very good reviews.
