we have a condo there and always stick around for the party. If you are a drinker, I would bring a cooler with the majority of your drinks, the bartender is swamped during the party. It is fun, they have a bbq, and a good reggie band, the whole island comes there, alot of natives, which makes people watching fun, and you can watch the cruise people get drunk and dance like white people, very funny to watch. I would go if you have never been.

thanks laurie,
we are staying there,we have one of the beachfront suites rented. so we will be people watching from the deck i guess.and will stock up on our own drinks also. how much do you have to pay to get into the bbq? and is it worth it? do they set up by the beach bar? i just wondered if i should be on a boat instead, theres so much to see and do in alittle amount of time.i don't want to feel like i wasted a day. do you know if they have blenders in the rooms for mixing fancy drinks?
thanks for any info, merry christmas, scooby

You can't see the party from the deck of the suites. The "beach party" dancing is actually done of the dance floor of the beachfront bar - which is covered. It is open on the sides and open to the beach, but not visible from above or from the side where the suites are becasue the little beach rental shop is on that side. People are usually crowded on the dance floor, at the bar and around the bar and dance floor areas. It really does get the feel of a local event - so I agree that it is not to be missed.

My mother ownes a-207. I don't think the party starts till like 2:30, so go due something till then, I think the bbq is $10, it is good to share with someone else so you can try it, for just a little nibble. yes, go down to the bar, you can lay on the beach too and watch people. Have fun, I'm not going till next year. 🙁
