Is there a taxi stand at Magen's Bay? My extended family with 20 people is taking a cruise which includes a stop at St. Thomas. We would like to visit Magens Bay, and know that we can easily get a cab from the Havensight dock. We're concerned whether we would have any difficulty getting a cab to return to the ship. Thank you in advance for any info.
Hello GL,
No trouble getting a taxi from Magens Bay, there is a taxi stand and there are always taxis waiting there to take you where you need to go.
Prearranging the return works out sometimes for a better price but be sure to get the drivers name, telephone number and dispatch number in case your plans change and you want to leave earlier, later... you can get in touch with them.

Thanks for the info. This is great as we won't have to pay the ridiculous tour rates charged by the cruise line.
Yes the Island Tour and an Afternoon at Magens are less expensive if you hook up with one of the many mini-buses waiting to take you 'round. Most take you to the beach, and actually wait right there so when it's time to go back to the ship you find your driver and your mini-bus, climb aboard and are whisked back to the ship.
In truth when the curise line books a trip to Magens, the mini-bus, safari or taxi driver makes less than he would with his fare to you which is less than you pay on the ship. So do you really want to give the curise ship even more money? Nah, see a driver when you get ashore, very easy mon......very friendly, very fair.
Come and enjoy.
