Here's a little video I shot and edited from our vacation stay at Sapphire Beach Resort last May 2011. We're getting ready for our next 10 night visit beginning this coming May 6th. Counting down the days!!!

I'll definitely be shooting lots of new HD footage on our 10 night stay beginning on May 6th and I'll edit a new video to upload to Youtube. I'll be sure to post a link to it on this message board.
My wife loves that hat also.

This is so great! I wish I studied my camera before I went!!! It is a great video camera I used, but I only tested out how to use it before I left and it got all blurry, lol. Great job! Keep posting and can't wait for the 2012 video!!!! Great stuff!!!!

I like the wide-angle view your camera gives. That's one thing I'd love to have on my camera. Most of my footage was shot after a few rum-based drinks but I was able to keep most of the shots steady with a lot of help from the Steady-shot function my Sony HDV camera has. I'll be bringing along a monopod also on this next trip.

Ahh, watching that just made me more anxious for our trip -- we too are going for 10 days, in July. In the beginning of the video there was a place with waves -- what beach was that?

Thank you for sharing that! I haven't been on this site for a while, or to the Virgin Islands for that matter, and that made me happy 😎

Ruby,
That part of the video was shot at The Sapphire Beach Resort, which is where I my wife and I are right now. We leave for home on the 16th after 10 days.

We went to that beach last July and I didn't see any waves -- not anywhere on St. Thomas actually and none over at Trunk either. I don't like big waves but my husband does. Does anyone know a place where you can go for waves either on St. Thomas or St. John?

You won't find anywhere here with big waves on a regular basis as our waters are generally calm unless some "weather" is passing through. 😀 I have a young friend here who's a surfing nut and, come a high wave day, he'll take off work and get right down to Hull Bay on the North side for the wave action. Frequent days like that and he probably wouldn't have a job to go back to!

Not directly related, but since you mentioned it....just wanted to put in a plug for Hull Bay. We stayed up there for a week at the beginning of the month and loved it! The views from our cottage were AMAZING, the actual bay is lovely, and you've got Hullbay Hideaway right there in case you need food or beverages!
