hey --in two weeks I will have the family of 6 down on the island of STT, and we cannot wait much longer as the weather here in Iowa is starting to get ugly.
I planned the trip alittle late, and having been on the island twice before (cruises) we discovered we wanted to stay near Red Hook if we ever came down for a weeks vacation. My question is: What can you tell us about the Anchorage at Cowpet Bay where we will be staying for 1 week (was only option available from our list of places to stay that we read about on this board)? also, from reading the posts on this board, it sounds like there will be plenty for us to do on the east side of the island (we do have cars rented). Thank you for all the information!

The Anchorage is a very nice, family-oriented complex. Arthur's Restaurant is on the property (delicious ribs!). It is next door to the St Thomas Yacht Club, and within close proximity to the Elysian and two more restaurants (Robert's and Bonnie's). Also as you noted close to Red Hook for ice cream, more entertainment options and the ferry to St John. Have fun!

Hello Walleye,

The property and location are great and having a car will allow you to explore the island. You will have a great time -start thinking about the things, activities you want to do :-). Which beaches, reestaurant, St. John, shopping... the good stuff.
