A couple of friends want to get to STT from their home in the Netherlands. They can get to St. Maarten fairly affordably. Now are looking for an "island hopper" or any REASONABLE cost airline to get from St. Maarten to STT. OR, are looking for another route that is affordable from Amsterdam to STT. Any ideas? Are there any smaller airlines that hop between islands we could call?
I think it's the cheapest way to go from Amsterdam directly to St. Maarten on KLM, and then from St. Maarten to St. Thomas on LIAT. Check LIAT's fares on www.liatairline.com . You could also get from St. Maarten to St. Thomas by connecting in San Juan through either American Eagle or Caribbean Sun, but I doubt you would want to do that as opposed to just taking a direct flight with LIAT.
Thanks Dominic. I just checked Liat. Looks like $292 round trip.....and they seem to run specials from time to time. Appreciate the advice.
My family came this summer from Amsterdam and took the KLM to SXM and LIAT to STT route. Liat was, as usual, hopelessly late. Something to think about if you will be the one picking them up from the airport.
BTW, I just got back from a weekend in SXM and the fare was only $200. I only bought the ticket two days in advance. My understanding is that this is the usual cost.
Not a good report on the arrival/departure time reliability but.....there you have it. Good to know in advance that there's potential for delay The pricing was much better news . Thank you Onika.
