We're coming down to STX at the end of Nov. and want to mail down our beach floaties to the hotel rather than packing in our suit case. We'll ship them home the Monday we leave. My first choice is the Post Office in F'sted but if the line is long I don't want to waste one of my last island hours at the PO. Is there a commercial alternative like Mailboxes where I can drop the package off?

Call the hotel, get their mailing address and send it there. We hold mailed packages for guests all the time. I'm sure they will be able to help you.

I misunderstood, you're asking about sending stuff BACK. Still, ask the hotel. We do this for guests all the time - I think we only charge postage.

Thanks for the suggestion, Linda. We are staying at the Carambola for the first week and the last four nights we'll be renting part of a duplex on the west end. I would hate to impose on the owner because I'm sure they have a life too beyond renting out part of their house.

If you're last 4 days is near the Carambola, the nearest post office will be Kingshill, near the LaReine Chicken Shack. No need to go all the way into F'sted. Go in early, it won't take long.

Thanks again for your help Linda. We'll be staying just north of Rhythms the last 4 days. I'll have to be one of the first in the door of the PO Monday morning. Not a problem for me.
