Our family of four will be going to St. Thomas and staying at the Renaissance in early July. We plan on renting a car but I think it might be more relaxing to get it after we're at the hotel, rather than picking it up at the airport. What is the best and most reasonably priced way for 4 with luggage to get to the Renaissance? Oh, and will Dependable or Discount bring a car to the hotel for us?

Taxis at the airport are regulated and prices are posted to the various hotels. Think it is about $9 per person the the Renaissance, depending on the amount of luggage you have, believe there is a $1.00 per bag charge too. Don't know about Discount, but we have used Dependable for years. They will come and get you at the hotel, take you back to their office which is in town to do paperwork. Since they are not at the airport you don't pay the extra airport car rental fee. When you are leaving, you can either go to their office and they will take you to the airport, or drop the rest of your group and the luggage at the airport, return the car and they will give you a ride back to airport. This saves on a second taxi ride from hotel to airport.
We always use Dependable Car Rental. We give them a call from the airport before we get our suitcases and they are there within minutes of us getting to the curb. No need for a taxi.

We give them a call from the airport before we get our suitcases and they are there w/ a van took my wife and daughter to Bluebeard's and took me to their office. This was at 1130PM. Also they will match any specials Avis or Discount will give you. They are a family business that I highly recommend.
