Hello from Texas,
I need some advice... I'm arriving STT on Sun. @4:30pm and need to get to the Ferry Terminal by 5:30pm for the last Ferry to Tortola.
What will be the fastest way to get to the Ferry Terminal? Is this even possible. I'm not sure how far the airport is to the Ferry Terminal.
Should I hire a private taxi driver and if so, I need names and numbers. (I can't seem to find any on the web)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
the2rs

We used Rachel in July. She got us from the airport to Red Hook in a little under an hour on a busy Saturday. Her number is 340 771 2986. I can't remember what she charged, but it was well worth the money.

You're really calling it close......

The C.A. ferry terminal is only 10-15 minutes away....but if your flight is late, or you're in the back of the plane, or baggage is delayed this could be a problem. Also, most taxis wait to fill-up with passengers before leaving the terminal.

Good luck.

I would only take a carry-on so I didn't have to wait for luggage and hire a private taxi. Last year we missed our ferry (but it was to STJ so we caught another one, which isn't an option if you're catching the last ferry) because our taxi driver said the van wasn't full enough to leave.

It depends where you are going out of if you are going out of red hook and have checked luggage no way if you are going out of the one closer to the air port yes if your plane is on time and they have a place for you to deplane,

The last Charlotte Amalie to Tortola ferry on a Sunday is 5:15 (see ferry schedule listings above) and as long as your plane is on time you should be able to make that as that ferry terminal is at most a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. I would contact Rachel (she's delightful!) at the number you were given and she should be able to get you to either CA or Red Hook depending on timing. Cheers!

I must need a larger font. 😉 When you give Rachel a call, have your flight information. She truly is delightful and several people recommended her when I was looking for a private taxi. You'll need to schedule her in advance, so call asap.

Call the ferry or email them at [email protected]. They have package deals which includes a taxi from airport to charlotte amalie and back, round trip ticket, etc.
