We are scheduled to arrive on STT at 3:50pm on a Tuesday. We are renting a car at the airport. I am concerned about making the ferry to STJ in time. The last ferry is at 7:00pm in Red Hook. Anyone know how long the process takes?

I know I have a lot of questions lately, but it's finally getting down to the wire. Everyone has been so helpul.

Rod - Although it sometimes takes a bit to get luggage (45 min during the busy afternoons when flights come in), you should still be fine. Worst case scenario is that you get your luggage at 5:00. It is 30 min from the airport to Red Hook. The taxis will "load up" on passengers going to various resorts, in which case you'll be next to the last drop-off's since Red Hook is at the other end. Again, worst case is that you don't get there until 6:00. Plenty of time to catch a drink in Red Hook while you wait for the 7:00 ferry!

If you get your luggage fairly quickly, you might even be better off catching the 5:30 ferry to STJ from Charlotte Amalie. CA is closer to the airport (10 min).

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to that drink. We are renting a car though. We will not need to depend on the taxi.

RSMall....you'll have plenty of time. We were there in June. We waited 20 mins for luggage and another 30 at the Budget Rent a Car counter. We had to stop at the court house to pick up our marriage license and were still on the ferry about 2 hours after we landed.
