how far is it from the airport to the St John ferry and about how much will the taxi run? Also is this the area where the cruise ships dock, have friends that will be in port that day and want to meet up before we all head in our different directions.
Many thanks.

from the airport to the ferry (I assume you mean St. John and not town) is about 8 miles or about 1/2 hour. Havensite (assuming that you are not talking about Crown Bay were the ships also come in) is on the way.

The fee is about 15/per person plus 2 per bag.

There are two places to catch a ferry for St John - one on the waterfront in Charlotte Amalie and one in Red Hook. The waterfront is close to Havensight (about a mile walk), if that is where your friends will be docked. If they are in Crown Bay, they would need to get downtown. You all could meet up for lunch or beverages in town. The taxi fares are listed above on the St Thomas drop down menu.
