If I am arriving at 4:15 on a Wed,, can I get my luggage and make the 5:30 ferry from Charlotte Amalie to St. John?

The airport at St. Thomas is small, but you never know what can happen once you get there.
If you're arriving at 4:15, you get off the plane and you walk on the tarmac to the baggage area. Depending on what kind of plan you're coming in on(small from PR)? (huge from one of the states)? makes a big difference. Are you getting a car at the airport? Off grounds of the airport?
Charlotte Amalie's ferry is pretty close. I'd be more concerned if you were going to Red Hook which is farther away.
You have a good change if everything goes well for you with your luggage.
Once you set your feet down on USVI's, take a deep breath, relax. You're on vacation.
You'll get to STJ one way or another. I have a feeling that you'll make it. :o)
Everything will have to fall your way but be prepared to take the next one or look at the 6PM from Red hook. Like Connie said, don't stress out too much over the ferry. Heck of a way to start a vacation.
