since they are going to start charging for the liquor, tourists may not want to buy as many and thus affect the rum industry on the islands. also i hope they will make sure the boxes are safer when on the plane. my mother just flew in from st. croix with a box of 6 and someone stole 4 of the bottles of rum and had the nerve to tape back up the box. so for 15 dollars they need to make sure boxes or luggage aren't tampered with.

Maybe you didn't read the article correctly. Both American Airlines and now US Air will not be charging for liquor boxes in their new pay for luggage program. Sorry about your Mom's rum. Hope you made a claim.
