*I normally visit your lovely island by cruise ship and I would like to know if there are any places comprable to stay on the island to get a real taste of your paradise? 2 seniors 1 bedroom villa or condo? Or should I just travel by cruise ship where I get everything included?? thanks for your time Joann in Fla.
A cruise visit and an on island visit are very different. As you already have experienced visiting the island on a cruise limits you to one day to see what you would like to see. However you have the benefit of seeing other islands on the itinary and having every in terms of sleeping, eating, entertainment taken care of without much thought. On island visit you could see much more, eat at local restaurants - St. Thomas has a great many wonderful places. St. Croix is quieter and offers lots of scenic and historic treasures, St. John has wonderful beaches and natural attractions. You really could take a week visit or a two week visit and see lots and enjoy the islands. You would need to select a place to stay, perhaps a rental car, places you might like to dine, attractions you would like to see... all of which might be a more expensive visit and a more complete one in terms of enjoying the USVI.
Which island in the USVI did you want to stay on?

Lots of choices to stay in the islands. Bolongo is a budget hotel -nice and right on the beach but not your luxury resort. Sapphire is more expensive - right on the beach. Many others. There are condos to rent. I have a 2 bdrm apartment I rent short term - you could look at www.stthomasvirginisland.com. These are all on St. Thomas. Let us know what island and what price range.
If you are looking to stay on St. John one of the most affordable condos is Serendip they have a good location and great views. You can check there website at www.serendipstjohn.com
