Islander you have a lot of knowledge of St. John. Do you live there?

We could really use some advice on booking a rental property. We are currently looking at Coral Bay Vacation properties, Astral Ridge in particular. Do you know of this location? Any positive or negative comments? Is there somewhere else you'd recommend? We are planning to come down sometime Feb/March of 2006. We are open to suggestions. Is this a good part of the island? Drawbacks?! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jill and Gene

Hello Jill,

I am actually from St. Thomas and unfortunately I don't have a solid grasp on villas/locations on St. John so can't be of much assistance to you.

Anyone stayed at Astral Ridge before - have feedback for Jill? Answers to her other questions on locations?

Hopefully someone on the board has stayed there and can give you some information.

Astral ridge is part of Astral Villa, a privately owned and is an owner direct rental villa. The main house and guesthouse can be rented together or separately. The main house, rented as astral Ridge has a pool and hot tub. Astral Cottage has its own hot tub. when rented together, a third bedroom can be created in the cottage sitting room. It is on the east end toward Kiddle Bay and near salt Pond up the hill from the road. I've read very good reviews on other forums from those who stayed there. I've spoken with the owners in the past and they were very cooperative and friendly. They did not have the dates I needed, so I stayed elsewhere. It is near Miss Lucy's and about 35-40 minutes from Cruz Bay and 5-10 from Coral Bay. To deal directly with the owners - which I recommend, go to www.coralbayvacations.net
