Hello everyone,

Just wondering if there are any "Adult Oriented" Gentlemen's Clubs (AKA Strip Clubs), Adult Novelty Stores or Adult Oriented Video Stores on the islands.

Just curious as my Husband and I live in Florida where these businesses are plentiful......

Thanks,

BlueeyedGirl

There's a thread on this board about something opening up on STJ...and that's all I have to say about that.

Do a search.

You will not find anything comparable to what you find in the states. The culture does not lend itself to this type of business.

There's at least one "gentlemen's club" on St Thomas, and one adult video store that I know of. There used to be a Lover's Lane here, but that closed. There are a few "lingerie" stores that may have adult novelty items, but if they do, they're very discreet about it, though the stores are located in easily accessible shopping areas. Most of the DVD bootleggers sell adult videos, too.

BlueeyedGirl,

You will find that alot of people on here have negative views for anything that is taboo or socially unaccepted. I find it funny as they seem to be the ones with the largest families where they think SEX is for breeding purposes and is not to be enjoyed! They need to get a life.

Adult oriented places are not illegal or against the law that I know of, however, they seem to be against ones religion....that is unless SEX is used to create life and not an orgasm. LOL.

A person does have a freedom of choice and a freedom of speech. I feel that a person has a choice to go into a club or not. Just because a person may or may not like something it shouldn't give them the power to judge or discriminate but they always will. It's human nature. However, if nudity offends a person they shouldn't go into a nude club, etc..... It's not like when a NON-SMOKER (like myself) sits on a beach and a SMOKER blows that nasty smoke out of their lungs and it always blows in my direction.

From what I read on here, some of the Island people would rather have nude beaches where perverts could go and oogle each others partners instead of doing so behind closed doors. Last time I checked, children couldn't go into a strip club but they sure as hell could see things swinging on a nude beach, even if they have to peek through the bushes.

Just my 2 cents worth and I would expect nothing less than a good blasting for posting this.

There's some sort of an "adult" store in the Tutu area, on the opposite side of the road to the carwash and before you get to the stop light. And there seems to be another which just popped up in the small Cassis Hill shopping/office complex in Smith Bay. Each to his or her own and let's save the moral judgements and posturing for another forum. Cheers!

Linda J,

I didn't mean to confuse anyone by implying that there are Nude Beaches there but I have read hundreds of posts and read a few concerning Nude Beaches. Mainly people looking for them to go to.

Hey STT Resident,

I am just calling it as I read it. Sorry if it offended you in any way.

GetaLife: I wasn't offended - takes WAY more than a moral discussion to offend me. The OP just asked a simple question and I just thought a simple answer was all that was required. Cheers!

In my part of Los Angeles we do not consider adult entertainment either taboo or socially unacceptable. In fact, we consider it a very big part of the business tax base. So what some might consider 'nasty' others might consider yummy taxable income.

/just a LA business perspective

Hey STT Resident,
How do you know so much about the location of those places? You don't seem to be the type that would frequent them. LOL.

I went into Club 75 with a client that was looking for that sort of thing...I wished that they had covered the women with blankets! (and sheets and afghans and comforters and put them behind plywood!) Ugh! They gave me the willies!

So I am guessing that they weren't too pretty.....I mean PURDY!? LOL... Club 75? Is that on one of the islands?

I know a guy, who knows a guy, who has a brother with a sister who is connected. Now, if we could just get their people, in touch with their other people, things may change for the better..............LOL

Yeah, Club 75 is on St. Thomas, Main St. at the far Western end...upstairs. I couldn't even tell you how the place looked inside, as I was so freaked out by the ugly naked women dancing...

Jala Jala is right around the corner not too far, and we hit that one too (is that one closed now? Fire or something?)....it was just as bad...but at least they had bedrooms for guys and the girls to have some 'privacy'...kinda like El Cubano on Cassi Hill. Though, I suspect that more than dancing is going on in the bedrooms...but that's just me and my skeptical mind...it's probably harmless....isn't it?
