We (girlfriend and I) are considering the following:

Horseback riding on St. John
Parasailing
Hiking in St. John
Magens Bay (for sunning and relaxing)
New Horizons boat day trip
Snorkeling

In light of the fact we only have 5 days on St. Thomas do you think we might be spreading ourselves to thin?

Where is the best place to go snorkeling?
What are the activities that are absolutely mandatory if one is to have the best USVI experience?

Do what we do, come back year after year. This year it is for two weeks but I doubt we'll get everything done this year either. There's no rush, it will get done. I'm affraid that several years ago while we were on a sail boat off St. Thomas I (accidently) lost my watch to the briney deep, I haven't put one back on since. Is Island Life contagious? You tell me. Relax, do what you want when you want and have a great time. I know we do. Perhaps this year we'll try to relax even more than last year.

5 days is plenty time to do all those things. Horseback and hiking on St. John is one day as well as sightseeing there, and you should go snorkeling there too. Perhaps have dinner. Thats one full day on St. John. Parasailing and beach day can be day two - perhaps parasailing out of Renaissance and then snorkel and see Coral World - thats day 2. Day three Horizons day charter. Magens day four. Hey you still have a fifth day - so get something else as a back up that you might like to do - or save day 5 for sightseeing on St. THomas and shopping for souvenirs to take home. Have a great time.

Snorkeling - on St. Thomas try Coki Beach. On St. John try Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay or Waterlemon Cay.

All the things you have on your list are must do's. You will have a great time. Actually the only must do - is relax, unwind and have a peaceful and relaxing time regardless of what you do. Come down here with the attitude that you are on island time -(which means, 11am might be anywhere for 10:45 to 11:30) and take in the beauty and enjoy.
