Coming down for some R&R in Nov for 5 days. Need a nice convenient place to stay that has good rates. Will need a rental car and need advice on that. Also have to go to St. Croix and need to know how to do that and can I take the rental car to St. Croix?

Lots of places with good rates. Try Bolongo Beach Resort. Also an apartment www.stthomasvirginisland.com.

I have heard that Budget has good rates for rental cars. Can't take a car to St. Croix. Would have to fly over on Seaborne or Cape Air.

Bob,

You might also try Emerald Beach Resort... its on a lovely beach, close to the airport which closes in the late afternoon/early evening so not like planes are coming in at 2am... rooms face the water, some rooms you can go on the porch and you are right on the beach basically.

Rental Car is a good idea. Budget is good, Dependable, Avis, Discount... all get good comments.

Getting to St. Croix... the Seaplane... there is a ferry but it doesnt usually begin operating until late November.

Once on St. Croix rent a car for the day... a compact car on St. Croix is around $40 cheaper then St. Thomas and St. John.

If you are looking for a great hotel for less money, try the Best Western Carib Beach Resort. It is about half the price of Emerald Beach Resort and you can use their ammenities free of charge because they are the same company. They even have a shuttle service between the resorts. It is more relaxed and quieter than Emerald Beach. I think for about $80 a night, you can get the same room at Carib Beach for what they charge over $150 at Emerald.
