*Hi. I will be traveling to St John in June with my 4 year old daughter. After researching, I think that Harmony Studios would be the best for a kid, and most affordable. I checked into some cottages / villas, but for a week -it was a little over my budget. Before reserving my Studio - do you have any suggestions that I might have missed? I'd rather not be in "town" - or where it might dirty, unsafe, or noisy for a child. Thank you Beth

Hello Beth,

Harmony Studios is all that you wanted; its not in town or near town, its not dirty or unsafe and shouldn't be noisy. They have some pottery and kids classes that your daughter and you might enjoy doing. Are you going to rent a car - that would be the only thing I would add that you might consider - so you can beach hop, sight see ect easily.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I have reserved a cottage at Harmony Studios. Thanks for the advice. I lived on STT and STX for many years - and spent a great deal of time in St John - my favorite island. I can't wait to share it with my daughter. We are working on her snorkeling skills now! We are renting a jeep. Who do you suggest? It's been awhile since I drove on the left hand side - let alone a stick shift! Should be interesting! Any specific restaurants you can suggest @ about $ 15.00+ a person? My kid is well behaved - and used to dinning out. Anyhting else we shouldn't miss? We will be coming mid - late June. Our trip will be a few days shorter than planned - so any must see - must not miss suggestions, would be great! I haven't been there in 7 years!

Thanks, Beth

Hello Beth,

Some fun things for you to do might be to get your daughter some beach toys for castle building; also might get either one of the floats with the viewing area (like a mask type thing) built in so she can float and look underwater. Snorkeling is fun; you might buy her a kids mask back in the states; the rental ones are usually large and she won't have a good experience if the mask keeps falling off or getting water. Maybe go to Annaberg and/or Cinnamon Bay they aren't difficult hikes and the historical sugar plantation ruins are there; relatively flat areas to walk through. You can do mini-golf and eat there one evening. Maybe try Skinny Legs for a casual restaurant.
