*I am going to attend a conference held at Mariott Frenchman's reef hotel and resort in St. Thomas, Virgin islands from 18/6/2003 to 21/6/2003. However, the accomodation the conference comittee offers is a little beyond my budget. Can I find a hotel which offers about $70 rate around the site?

Thank you

Hello Weiyen,

Mariott Frenchmans Reef and Mariott Morningstar Resort are out on the end of the island, there are residences nearby, but no other hotels. You might find staying in Charlotte Amalie or at the two hotels by the airport less expensive - but would require taxi rides, or renting a car to commute which might add up. Call the Mariott and find out what rates they have, don't mention the conference... just ask about what prices they have at either the Frenchmans or Morningstar, June is getting into off season and there should be packages or discounted rooms. I think your best bet would be to call the two properties directly and ask about their less costly rooms. Don't think you'll get it for $70, however you see what you find by calling. Otherwise look into the hotels in town/airport - they will be possibly between $70-$100.

Downtown you could get a nice room at a B&B like the Crystal Palace- www.crystalpalaceusvi.com!!
