Greetings,

We are looking at spending a week on Water Island in June. The homes listed on VRBO look great and I think we could easily find one that fits our family. Has anyone spent a week on Water Island and how did you like it? What didn't you like? We aren't looking for a fast paced vacation....a week on a beach sounds nice, but I wonder if that isn't realistic. Are there any day charters/sails that are available from Crown Bay. The logistics of getting to the east end seem large. Any feedback/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sincerely,
So Tired Of Snow

Lookingforpeace, you will find peace on Water Island and also, if you desire, there are plenty of things to do including hanging out on the porch on Flamingo Point which is an actual "activity". We have the BEST view on Water Island both day and night. You can find our vacation home listed on this site (VINOW.com under Water Island Accomodations) as well as

For activities on Water Island, click on the Water Island Civic Association web site http://www.waterislandwica.com/IslandLife

For fishing charter, our neighbor on Water Island, Joe Mancino, has two boats and he provides great service http://www.posttimecharters.com/
Joe is also one of the Captains of the Water Island ferry. Both of Joe's boats are in excellent condition and he's a very safe and reliable captain.

The above two links are from a couple that were asking the same questions about Water Island that you have asked. There was a lot of advise given prior to their visit. The second link is there trip report which speaks for itself.

I've sent you a PM.

Hi
My wife and I have spent the last two winters living on Water Island. We love it but it isn't for everybody. In our case we think the inconveniences of living here are a small price to pay for the peace and harmony that is found here. With the daily ferry trips to St Thomas we feel it is the best of both worlds. Evening can be a little slow but there is something going on Sundays,Mondays,Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights. Again Water Island is a perfect fit for us but we have lived on an island in the Pacific Northwest for the last 25 years, so maybe we are a little strange.
p.s. we manage a villa here on water island go to VRBO # 277514

We have two properties on Water Island. They can be viewed at http://slowmocean.com

Water Island is a very special place. Very quiet, private, clean and safe. I have lots of reviews from our previous rentals guests I can share.

Please take a look and PM me if you have questions.

We stayed here last month and I can't say enough great things about it. The owners are fantastic and it is truly a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We can't wait to go again next winter!
