I have the opportunity to decorate a lovely waterfront home on STT(I just decorate - but owner pays for decor), in exchange for use of said home. I've looked at some many villas over the years and have always seen really colorful bedding, etc...things ith fish and turtles swimming....Caribbean colors. Where does this stuff come from? Is there one company that is favored? Any help is most appreciated.

EE - Yes, without seeing that book, I'm betting that the true caribbean style would be dark mahogany woods and white quilts / Hamptons bankets. That is the style of my home in Philadelphia....and is an ode to old world island style. I haven't given up on that idea, yet. But, the "away" home is such a nice opportunity to do what I wouldn't do at home.

On the quite expensive side...but I like this color combo from Horchow:

and I'm liking this coral colored beauty w/shell motif:

Blu,
Very nice! The top photo is kinda like what I am looking for. I love the blanket laying on the bed and the color of the pillows! You find any thing similar at all? I am ok with stripes, or blocks even. I'm not a flowery kinda gal, but tropicals are acceptable! Actually, the set that is in the SC photos on-line and in the catalog is exactly what I'd like, BUT the set was too cheap- bought 2 sets and when I washed them the filling didn't bunch up it HARDENED! GO FIGURE!!!! I couldn't even begin to think about sleeping on the matching sheets! Had to buy new high quality ones in Bright orange.
That Philly flight got in at 9:20 pm last night!!! On the news today something was mentioned that US AIR and America West merged their computers yesterday! Didn't get home until 11:30pm, way past this girls bedtime! Go's with the job, when the plain arrives, I have to be there!

Iowa, you are right! I liked the concept of that designer you mentioned, but.... And quality is ut-most importance! (tho price is somewhat of an issue)! Can't do $500, can do $200 or so.
Maybe we can start designing our own stuff! 🙂 Where did you get your set from?

East Ender, I love the book you mentioned! I too, really like that style and plan to eventually do the big 4 poster dark wood bed. A lot of villas use the plain white coverlets which are pretty, but think of the usage! They take on stains easily, and it can be embarrassing to bring a guest into the villa to that. They need to be replaced often and its tough enough to keep them clean on a weekly basis as it is! I liked a set at Linen Source- tropical, but alot of white in the background. For that reason alone, I can't use it! Bummer!
