THURSDAY 5/12/2005

flight at LGA and connecting at Charlotte went smoothly

3pm...landed St. Thomas with light rain...being optimistic that it'll be a nicer day...

went ahead n got our hotel vouchers we got Get Up and Go from Fairfields...no pushy timeshare salesmen to force us to go sit in presentations cuz we did get our hotels for free =)

4pm...arrived at hotel...very nice resort...couldnt complain more...even with rain n all...we went on as planned...but switched up some restaurant choices

7pm...i was craving Cuban...so made reservations at Havana Blue...ambience was PERFECT for our first night dinner...service was wonderful

woke up in the morning to realized that the day isnt gonna get better...overcast skies...with rain drizzle...so swap monday's plan in shopping around town from hitting up the island beaches...

charlotte amalie - downtown st. thomas...SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING...DUTY FREE...

Lunch at Gladys ~ BEST CONCH FRITTERS in the island...very friendly waitress

then headed over to Coral World...a very tiny tiny aquarium...u could finish it in an hour or less...went next door to Coki Beach...pretty nice...still enjoyed the beach in the clouds

dinner at Duffy's Love Shack....a happening place...but since it's literally a shack n the rain was really coming down....we didnt stay long for the music n dancing....

we took a risk considering we have no idea how the weather conditions will be at St. John and it turned out to be the BEST day of our stay.

we took an early ferry over to St. John...got to the island about 8:30am...got some breakfast n arrived at Trunk Bay...the most photographed beach on the USVI...n let me tell u...it is GORGEOUS!!!

at first we were supposed to do some snorkeling n then beach hop...but it was SOOOO nice that we decided to stay for the rest of the day...

since we got there about 9ish...we got the WHOLE beach to ourselves...it was just US and a GORGEOUS beach...the sun was coming in n out of the clouds...n it was definitely a nicer day than b4...

dinner at Zozo restaurant supposedly to have the best spot for sunset...since it was so cloudy...we didnt c anything...but dinner was great!!! since we sat at the bar...our bartender Matt is FABULOUS!!!

weather was prolly the worst on sunday...it was just raining nonstop...but still determined to go to Magen's Bay...named one of the best beaches...it was nice...but can't compare to Trunk Bay...
then the beach closed cuz it was raining n not much visitors...

we decided to head back n do some shopping...n cab driver told us that since it's sunday n there r no cruise ship docked...none of the stores will be open...oh wellz...

so we headed back to the hotel...

well..since it was our last nite at st. thomas...we had to eat well...made a reservation to Agave Terrace...it was so nice...but the only thing is...since it was afterall a "terrace"...i got BITEN all over my legs...some were poisonous mosquitos...i got bites the size of a QUARTER!!! oh wellz...so we rushed thru our dinner...n no dessert...

shopping shopping shopping at havenport mall...for souvenirs...=)

then went on paradise point tram...great view...would of been MUCH better if it was clear sky...but we cant change the weather...just got to flow with it..it didn't stop us from doing things as planned.

then back to nyc...

Sounds like you had a great trip. I loved trunk bay too. We spend a whole day there and we didn't care how many people where on the beach. Sorry about your weather but you certainly made the best of your vacation.

Thanks for sharing....
