For next year I am looking for a four bedroom (or more) villa on St. John. But I want two bedrooms on each side of the common area, with at least one set of bedrooms close and on the same level for my son, daughter-in-law, and two small kids (under 6). Pool necessary, spa not. View important.

Island Sun for example does not work as the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, but on different levels.

Not all listings have floorplans and I'm not ready to start calling agents yet.

Recs?

Not sure, but suggest you try www.destinationstjohn.com check out their homes & villas. My family & I are staying at La Papya the end of May for the 1st time. This is not our 1st time to St.John, but it is 1st time using Destination St. John. Hope this will help. Felicia

We stayed at Beija Flor last year and loved it. I think it would work, we are staying at another villa through the same company this year, just to try something different. We LOVED the villa last year. Bedrooms on each side of the common area and the downstairs bedrooms are connected by a walk through closet or something.. I was only down there once.

Rented Rainbow Beach from Caribbean Villas and Resorts. This may fit your needs. There are two bedrooms and loft on the main floor and I think either two or three bedrooms downstairs. View the house at the following. http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/rainbow/rainbow.html

Thanks for the villas recs. Each would work, but I realized how particular (spoiled?) we have become. Rainbow Beach is too low for us, looks great but might be buggy. On some of the others I'm not crazy about the view of the Point Rendezvous houses that are tucked into Fish Bay east of the ridge. I'm still looking.
We have used both Seaview and Destination in the past with good results.
I'll repeat my attitude about McLaughlinAnderson as I cannot understand my people shill for this STT agency that only brokers villas on STJ (meaning you will pay more than through the managing agent) when there are now so many STJ based agencies that do such a good job on a magnificent inventory of villas.
Beiji Flor is a great rec as it is very unusual in STJ to have bedrooms connected without having to go outside. It may be a good choice for us.

Thanks again for you considering some options for me.

Beija Flor - you do have to go outside to get to the two downstairs bedrooms. Good Luck!

Cincy girl, your previous post and the floor plan show the downstairs bedrooms connected through closets.

There is no floor plan for Ixora. Would the bedrooms work-one pair close and on the same level. Where is Ixora in relation to Orion Hill?

Take a look at our web site http://www.southwind.vi for a villa that might meet your specs even though it is on St. Thomas. It is minutes from the airport, right in the middle of the island and minutes (7) from Magens Bay Beach. It is ideal for families with children or grand children like our own.

Hello!

Yes the downstairs are connected, but to get to the downstairs from the main part of the house (kitchen/great room) you do have to go outside. The Floor Plan is right on. We really loved the villa, the way all of the doors fold back and open to the outside is fantastic.
