That's gonna be mighty expensive! I would say that buying a $1,500 vehicle and then selling it after 3 months would be a lot more viable...for me, anyway. I just can't see spending $2,700 for a rental, when you can spend $1,500 for the car, $270 for insurance (= $1,770), then selling it for $1000 (which will move it very quickly), and cancelling the insurance (approx $200 refund), which equals a net expense of only $570. Hmmm...$570 vs. $2,700...not a big decision for me!

Marty I agree with you. Buying an island car then selling it makes a lot of sense. For insurance, if you just need liability insurance for the vehicle you buy it is cheap compared to liability in the States. I only pay about $250.00 per year for liability coverage.

There are some places that do give monthly rates. Tri Island Car Rental and Dependable Car Rental to name two. Don't know of any in St. John. Doesn't hurt to ask them. You can take the St. Thomas rentals over to St. John. It becomes a bit difficult if they break down though.
