Hi there,

I've been reading the boards here for a couple of days. Lots of good advice and info!

I just booked our first trip to VI for first week of June. We are staying at Pavilions & Pools. Has anyone ever stayed there. I ran across them just by searching the web. This is an anniversary trip for my husband and I. So I thought the seclusion sounded very nice.

We are interested in snorkling, so any info best places to go would be great.

Thank You Much!

This is very interesting. When our group of 7 couples booked around Easter, 2006 there were only 2 rates posted on the Net --- $175 per night for the Caribbean (smaller) units and $195 per night for the larger, International units. I believe they may have added on a $10 per night "energy surcharge" but this was relatively inconsequential.

When I just checked the website, it appears they have gone to a different pricing structure, with increases in the 10% - 20% range. These are not the same prices that were in effect in April, nor were the "category" of rooms broken out.

I don't know whether this is part of a larger Island wide trend, or limited to P & P. What is does point out is that simply requesting a "renovated" unit will be met with a higher nightly quote. It might make a difference if you call direct rather than use a travel agent, because the agents fee comes right out of their bottom line.

Good luck --- and if you do stay there, please let us know your opinion of the place and how you perceive the value-per-$$$ spent.

Actually, owners now have the option to live there year round. All units used to be on a hotel plan which is why you couldn't live there year round, but that is now longer the case. There are at least two for sale... http://www.usvi-realestate.com/05-1213vir - there may be others.

Oh they just changed the website in the last couple of days. The prices were at the $175 & $195 until then. Sounds like I just waited a couple of weeks too long to make this reservation. Oh well, still seems like a nice place and a good deal for the 7 night daily rate package. Hopefully they wont add on any other 'surcharges' like this energy one.

I probably will just book directly with George since I seem to have done all the research on my own anyways. No point in paying the travel agent.

And incase you are curious...I decided I will go for the deluxe Int. room. Figured for a honeymoon most of the time will be spent lounging around the pool/villa so should have the best of them to hang out in. Thanks for your help!
