OK Locals.

Here's your chance at helping a tourist. I live in a tourist town in Virginia (Virginia Beach) and am interested in visiting your beautiful island. So tell me...Where can I stay that is nice but not to expensive. Where should I eat that is excellant but not to pricey. And what should I do the first visit there? This is a couples trip, We are both forty something and full of adventure.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bb

Hi Bb

There are a few islands that make up the VI. Which one have you decided to visit?

You might want to give us your definition of "not expensive" & "not to pricey".

We were looking at St.Croix...

Not expensive=reasonable

not to pricey...some places you pay for atmosphere, were looking for view...privacy and beaches to snorkel.

Thanks

If you are interested in St. Croix, I would recommend very highly Carrington's Inn (www.carringtonsinn.com). This is a small B&B that overlooks Christainstad harbour. The rooms are very nice and reasonable. The best part is that Claudia and Roger's breakfasts are included. These will easily carry you through most of day. The. breakfasts are served at a common table so this gives one a change to compare notes with the others that are staying there. Claudia and Roger themselves are a great source of information on where to go and what to do. You will, however, need a car.
We were in St Croix in Feb of this year and really enjoyed our first trip to the USVIs. Supposely Feb is peak tourist season but you would never know it. The people are friendly and very helpful. Definitely a good introductory place for a first visit.
