Staying @ Latitude Villa this summer. Anyone w info on: weather, insects, mosquitos, crime, etc. I would appreciate greatly!
Weather
It doesn't change much throughout the year but if you want general patterns, use the Weather link in the the upper RH corner of this page. Although summer is technically hurricane season, things don't start acting up until mid August.
Insects / Mosquitos
No see ums are the only issue. The tend to be more active when the trade breezes are not blowing (early morning & dusk). You can use a good repellant to avoid major attacks.
Crime
Like any where else, if you go looking for it you'll find it. That said don't make it set the tone for your vacation and you probably won't notice. STT tends to have more reports and STJ nearly non-existent.
General
Make sure you get one of the travel guides like St John Off the Beaten Track or Feet, Fins and 4 wheel Drive. They really hold a wealth of information.
