Hi,

Going to St. Thomas for the 1st time in June. Would like some input to some activities, etc. that we should not be sure to miss on this trip. We would definitely like to go to St. John and probably several of the beaches on St. Thomas. We will be there for 6 days. Also, is it safe to be out after dusk. I noticed on someones post that the people at their hotel advised them to be in by that time and that seems to be around 7:30 p.m.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Gayle:

There are numerous things to see and do in the USVI. It all depends on what interests you. Sounds like you already have a plan. That is to enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Six days is not enough to cover the numerous beaches on STT and STJ (all with their own charm), so that alone will keep you busy. And when you experience them, you most likely will be back.

On STT, you may want to experience Megans Bay. My 2 favorite beaches on STT are Secret Harbour and Sapphire beach. Secret Harbour offers excellent snorkeling. A lot of people like Coki beach but IMHO, its just too busy for me and I like the other beaches better. On STJ, for this visit you may want to stick to the north shore beaches (Cinammon, Hawknest, Trunk, etc.) All of them are gorgeous and most have good snorkeling.

Then there is sightseeing. On STT, there is Drakes seat, Blackbeards Castle, Coral World, Paradise Point, etc. On STJ, 3/4 of the island is a national park so there is plenty to see.

As for restaurants, there are numerous to fit different tastes. Post some questions about what you are looking for and the nice folks here will point you in the right direction.

Most Important! Relax while you are there and take it all in. There is no way you are going to experience everything STT and STJ have to offer. Guess you will just have to go back!

Hello Gayle,

Welcome to the board. Definately hit some of the attractions tmax mentioned. Magens Bay, Secret Harbor, Sapphire on St. Thomas. On St. John you can go hiking or take a taxi tour, or veg on the beach or beaches. Some nice ones are Honeymoon, Caneel, Hawksnest, Trunk bay, Cinnamon, Salt Pond, Maho... ahh lots of choices. Lots of restaurant choices on St. Thomas; Banana Tree Grill, Hook Line & Sinker, Sibs, Gladys, Room with a View, Fungis, Blue Moon Cafe are just a few favs. Do some shopping downtown or Havensight. Check out Bolongo Bays Caribbean show and perhaps the live band on Sunday afternoons at Sapphire.
