I wish that I could free up some time, Delta is offering round trip airfare from Chicago for $198 in July and August! I feel like ditching the hubby and kids and calling all of my girlfriends and have a beach week.

now that is one fabulous deal! Even if you only come for a 4-day weekend!
I spent $430RT from Syracuse, NY (blech). It's always a better deal from
a major hub..is that non-stop?

I have a condo on island and usually book my trips from a few days to a few weeks in advance. Hands down, the best place to find tickets is at Travelocity. Always make sure to check the "Flexible Dates" box. You'd be amazed by the savings if you are willing to work around the airlines and fill the vacant seats for a plane already destined for STT. I just checkad again, and Spirit (my most dreaded airline for those of you who have been around for a while) has tickets for $163 round trip from Chicago. For that price you could make a cigerette run for the weekend and still turn a profit.

elkenhausen,

It depends on the airline with where you stop. Spirit pretty much brings everyone into Ft Lauderdale, American usually brings you into Miami or Puerto Rico and occasionally Dallas. Delta, Southwest, United and US Air usually fly you to somewhere on the east coast like Atlanta, Charlotte NC, sometimes NY. I usually fly American so I'm not sure of everyone else's hub.

Molly: I usually get all my tix through Travelocity, but I have been finding killer deals on Hotwire, lately.
All their fares are quoted with fees and tax. I just got an email about a RT, non-stop to Frankfurt, Germany from
Denver for $300!! And that was for July and August. CRAZY!!

Where is your condo?

I love there fair watcher plus. What a coincidence, my son will be studying engineering in Frankfurt next fall, I've been watching the prices out of Chicago. I haven't seen anything offered for that cheap yet but I will keep watching. Our condo is in Pineapple Village next to Point Pleasant. It is in between Smith Bay Beach and Coki Beach.
